Innovative products for pure print excellence
When displaying a graphic of any kind, whether it is text-heavy or makes use of images, customers strive for the best representation of their signage or display. A simple poster may not be the best choice for every scenario and every advertisement on display.
Backlit film is a material upon which graphics or text can be printed so that when light shines through from behind the design lights up.
Many customers assume that the process is expensive and tedious for converting a design into signage that can function in a light box and that allows it to be seen at night as well as during the day. What they do not know is that backlit film can be an incredibly cost-effective strategy for advertisement and an aesthetically pleasing design element for decorative signage.
Shop owners or businesses with a lightbox display utilise backlit film to display their messages more prominently during both day and night. Restaurants utilise backlit film to display menu options outside or inside the building, bus stops display map features on a backlit film placed on a light source, and even museums find use in the properties of backlit signage.
Its semi-translucency is a unique quality that allows for the materials to catch and distribute any light that appears behind the film, no matter how faint or distant. Whatever type of design, if printed on high resolution backlit film it will appear crisp and clear to all possible viewers regardless of distance. The vibrancy of the colours is also a detail to note when considering backlit signage options.
Midcomp Consumables’ backlit film is a 200micron High-resolution Matt film of 1.3m x 50m for light box applications. The high-resolution coating gives a vibrancy to colours and designs that makes it an extremely eye-catching and impressive display. The high-resolution properties also offer an impressive grading and smoothness of colour tones that gives you a display of very high quality.

The film is ideal for high quality decals, signage and retail window advertising, applications on glass and other smooth, flat surfaces, interior and short-term outdoor promotions and it can even be used on electronic equipment, such as tv screens, ipad/tablet displays and computer monitors, as well as refrigerators and glass display cases.
