Palram offers you versatility and eco-sustainability
Midcomp Consumables have partnered with Palram Industries to bring to market a range of high-quality, lightweight and easy-to-handle flat foamed PVC sheets for a diverse range of applications in the large format sign and display and construction market.
The flat foamed PVC sheets are available in a lightweight .42 density and a higher .52 density in sizes 1220 x 2440mm or 2030 x 3050mm. Thicknesses include 2mm, 3mm and 5mm. Whichever size or thickness you choose, all foam boards are bright white with a consistent and smooth surface, high insulation and chemical resistance, low water absorption and is non-toxic. It can be easily bonded, vacuum formed, nailed and fabricated using conventional tools and equipment and is ideal for cost-sensitive projects.
Palram is also a member of the Vinyl Plus programme as part of its environmental commitment. They use sustainable, greener production methods with a lower environmental impact, and promote an environmentally friendly product portfolio.
Their green purpose is to encourage a sustainable environment and to reduce their ecological footprint by delivering recyclable and grindable solutions and improving their production and supply chain footprints. This means that you can offer your customers the additional benefit of an environmentally friendly product that consists of 30% recycled material and support a sustainability programme that has a significant long-term impact on the environment.
Applications for flat foamed PVC are extensive, ranging from advertising, screen printing, digital printing and photo mounting to construction and fabrication.
For the advertising industry you can use flat foamed PVC for lightweight and durable signs, displays or exhibition stands. You can mill and route letters, logos and other items as well as 3D signage. In the construction space you have the option of creating industrial models, partitions, ducting, control cabinets, lightweight structures for corrosive environments or insulation for control cabinets.
With screen printing the bright white colour enables you to reproduce true colours and achieve greater impact with white space. It is also suitable for use with aqueous and solvent inks and the low absorption of the sheet surface provides excellent ink yield. Of course, the flat and consistent surface is also ideal for screen printing.
In the world of digital printing, the flat foamed PVC sheets are specially designed for digital flatbed printers. It is suitable for use with UV curing and solvent-based digital inks, and for heat drying when water-based inks are used. The bright white colour also retains superb whiteness after intense UV curing.
Photo mounting is another application where the versatility of flat foamed PVC is of real benefit. It is highly suitable for mounting photos and digital printing lamination due to the flat and even surface that allows complete lamination, the impact strength and ductility that allows cutting by guillotine or knife and the high rigidity that enables the use of large sheets without the need for support.
