Midcomp is a supplier of HP PageWide XL Pro printers that deliver top-quality results for point-of-sale & large format printing jobs & technical printing for CAD & GIS applications
According to Midcomp’s Director, Navin Jeewanlall, HP PageWide XL printers provide fast large format printing, with the potential to reduce total production costs by up to 50%. This enables print service providers (PSPs) to expand their businesses by tapping into new revenue streams, such as GIS map printing and POS poster printing.
“HP PageWide technology features over 200,000 nozzles on a stationary print bar that spans the width of the page, allowing for breakthrough printing speeds. The extended time between service station cycles also ensures impressive sustained productivity,” Navin explains.
The HP PageWide XL Pro 10000, 8200, and 5200 printer series enable PSPs to print on various media, including boards, cardstock, and paper ranging from A2 to B1 sizes, with thicknesses up to 10mm. They also use water-based HP pigment inks, which create recyclable prints from responsibly sourced FSC-certified papers.
Navin highlights that the HP PageWide XL Pro 10000 is the fastest in the series, with print speeds of up to 30 A1 pages per minute. It includes an ultrafast processor, native PDF management, and HP SmartStream, which allows PSPs to complete full projects three times faster by printing mixed outputs of CAD drawings and presentation boards. The printer can easily integrate into existing Caldera and Onyx RIP workflows.
Additional advantages include 10 times lower energy consumption than comparable LED printers, low running costs for both CAD drawings and posters with up to five-liter HP Eco-Carton ink cartridges, and intuitive workflows that ensure a fast learning curve with simple application instructions through HP Learn.
The versatile stacker, inline folders, auto-switch, and up to six roll capabilities help free up operator time.
The HP PageWide XL Pro Series supports cost-effective production printing of short-term posters on rolls, sheets, and boards, with print speeds of up to 700m²
“This series enables PSPs to consolidate fleet capacity into a single device that efficiently prints various sizes and features an end-to-end cut-sheet workflow, powered by HP’s first large-format auto sheet feeder and versatile stacker,” Navin explains. “The PageWide XL Series also deliver instantly dry prints on compatible substrates, making output ready for finishing or delivery immediately.”
The HP PageWide XL Pro 5200 series allows PSPs to expand into two-sided, short-term retail posters, easily sending print jobs through HP SmartStream at speeds up to 20 A1 pages per minute.
“They can complete full projects twice as fast by printing mixed outputs of both CAD drawings and presentation boards, while benefiting from 10 times lower energy consumption compared to LED printers,” Navin adds. “Intuitive workflows with simple application instructions through HP Learn ensure a fast learning curve.”
The HP PageWide XL 8200 printer series is a powerful, efficient monochrome and colour production plotter, ideal for GIS map large format printing and POS posters at impressive speeds. With HP PageWide technology, this model reduces the need for operator intervention while achieving exceptional performance.
The HP PageWide XL 4200 and 5200 series are available as multifunction devices with integrated 1,200dpi scanners or printers. They feature a 30-second first page out and can accommodate up to four rolls with a 100-page top stacker. These models produce fade- and moisture-resistant prints using HP PageWide XL pigment ink and offer advanced security features, including PIN printing, self-encrypting HDD with AES-256, Secure Disk Erase, and IPSec.
