Vinyl is a staple in the world of large-format sign and display markets. It is extremely versatile, affordable, and easy to use. Vinyl comes in a variety of sizes and colours, thicknesses and finishes for use on a wide range of applications from glass, windows, rigid boards, and flat foamed PVC sheets to walls and floors.

Midcomp Consumables offers a range of self-adhesive vinyls for everyday use, long- or short-term applications or vinyl for more specialised applications.

Midcomp Consumables’ house brand includes a good quality 1-year economy range available in 1.3m x 50m rolls, in a white gloss or white matte finish or a standard 3-year vinyl in white gloss, white matte or clear. The 1-year product is an economy product for cost-sensitive projects or short-term projects that do not require a very strong or aggressive adhesive. These applications are normally for promotional advertisements running for a short time or for exhibitions, festivals or trade shows that run for a couple of days.

The self-adhesive vinyls range extends to include Drytac’s innovative self-adhesive SpotOn bubble-free, easy-apply, easy-remove vinyl of 1.3 x 50m available in white gloss, white matte, clear gloss and a clear matte with a frosted finish.

SpotOn® has a unique dot pattern removable adhesive that is virtually undetectable but allows graphics to be installed with minimal effort, remain in place for the duration of the application, and be removed with ease. The film’s adhesive allows for easy, bubble-free application of vibrant graphics to a wide range of substrates without the need for tools or wet installation and it can easily be removed within 12 months. SpotOn® is commonly used for window graphics but can also be used for short-term indoor applications such as wall graphics, trade show graphics or retail graphics that require seasonal change out.

Vinyls for wallpaper: an innovative wallpaper-specific vinyl from Midcomp Consumables is the Drytac Retac Smooth wall vinyl of 1.3m x 50m, available in 75micron or 150micron. What makes this product so incredible is its ease of use. There is no need for pre-treatment, glue or water activation, and you do not need a qualified applicator to apply the wallpaper – your customers can do it themselves in-store or at home because the product is repositionable peel-and-stick.

With ReTac® adhesive technology, there is no need to worry about surface damage during graphic removal. ReTac® Smooth can be removed and repositioned multiple times without a decrease in bond strength. It has a Class 0 fire rating, making it ideal for use on most indoor surfaces and for applications in public areas that require compliance with strict fire regulations, such as airports, hotels and hospitals. It is recommended for curved, textured or angled surfaces where conformability is a priority. Additionally, Retac® is a phthalate-free film, and applications include removable wall decals, appliques and wall murals and suitable for use on most indoor surfaces, painted walls, melamine, glass, and low surface energy substrates.

For floor applications, Midcomp Consumables supplies an impressive Drytac product called SpotOn Floor of 1.3m x 30m. This floor-specific product boasts the same easy-apply and easy-remove technology of the SpotOn bubble-free range.

SpotOn® Floor 200 is a print media for short-term, indoor floor graphics without the need for lamination. It boasts a post-printed R-10 anti-slip rating, which allows for vibrant, slip-resistant floor graphics. SpotOn® Floor 200 has been specifically developed for a simple, easy and tool-free installation. Thanks to a unique dot-pattern printed pressure-sensitive polyacrylate adhesive, this film can be applied to multiple flooring surfaces including short pile carpets, floor or ceramic tiles, sealed wood, concrete, waxed vinyl, marble, terrazzo surfaces and more. It can also be cleanly and quickly removed within six months of application. Using SpotOn Floor means you save considerably on over lamination costs as well as labour costs for application and removal.

The vinyl allows you to print and cut small details with ease and it gives the user the opportunity to re-attach small parts of your art work before heat transferring onto cotton and polyester fabrics. Recommended washing temperatures are at 60 degrees Celsius.
