PRINTABLE FILM FOR PURE PRINT EXCELLENCE
Produce brilliant signage, window graphics & floor graphics with our range of quality printable film substrates
Backlit and printable film’s semi-translucency is a unique quality that allows for the materials to catch and distribute any light that appears behind the film, no matter how faint or distant. Whatever type of design, if printed on high-resolution backlit film it will appear crisp and clear to all possible viewers regardless of distance. The vibrancy of the colours is also a detail to note when considering backlit signage options.
When displaying a graphic of any kind, whether it is text-heavy or makes use of images, customers strive for the best representation of their signage or display.
A simple poster may not be the best choice for every scenario and every advertisement on display. Backlit film is a material upon which graphics or text can be printed so that when light shines through from behind the design lights up.
Many customers assume that the process is expensive and tedious for converting a design into signage that can function in a lightbox and that allows it to be seen at night as well as during the day.
What they do not know is that backlit film can be an incredibly cost-effective strategy for advertisement and an aesthetically pleasing design element for decorative signage.
Shop owners or businesses with a lightbox display utilise backlit film to display their messages more prominently during both day and night.
Restaurants utilise backlit film to display menu options outside or inside the building, bus stops display map features on a backlit film placed on a light source, and even museums find use in the properties of backlit signage.

When it comes to extremely high-quality and technologically advanced film substrates, Drytac offers a range of products that are in a class of their own. Midcomp Consumables have partnered with Drytac and as the appointed distributor for Drytac in Southern Africa have access to a range of some of the most innovative sign and display products on the market.
For window and glass applications, you can consider Drytac’s ViziPrint® Impress Clear 1.3m x 30m which can be re-positioned and re-applied multiple times and removes cleanly up to 3 years after installation. This optically clear printable window film is designed for trouble-free installation of graphics on glass surfaces. ViziPrint® Impress Clear utilises proprietary adhesion technology that creates a strong bond in both high and low temperatures without leaving residue behind.
This adhesion technology also eliminates bubbling and is unaffected by moisture. Since it uses a mechanical bond to gently adhere images to windows, the glass stays clear and graphics stay bright whenever ViziPrint® Impress Clear is repositioned and re-applied. The film is ideal for high-quality decals, signage and retail window advertising, applications on glass and other smooth, flat surfaces, and interior and short-term outdoor promotions and it can even be used on electronic equipment, such as TV screens, iPad/tablet displays and computer monitors, as well as refrigerators and glass display cases.
An alternative window film product is Contra Vision’s 40% perforated window film with greyliner available in 1.3m x 50m for specifically one-way window graphic applications.
