HP has introduced the 700W & 800W large-format printers with white ink to assist print service providers with increasing their agility and taking on the highest value work by delivering fast workflows
Guayente Sanmartin, General Manager of the large format business at HP, reveals that the HP Latex 700W and 800W models are the first in this category to offer white ink capability. She emphasises that these models feature the “whitest white ink available on the market,” which does not yellow over time. This allows print service providers (PSPs) to create cleaner outlines and achieve greater contrast on darker materials.
The updated printheads in the HP Latex 800 and 800W models include more nozzles and 10-picolitre ink droplets. Combined with production speeds of up to 36m² per hour, these models offer a 50% increase in productivity compared to earlier HP versions.
Guayente highlights that the 700/800 series produces vibrant colors and finer image and text details, even when printing at higher speeds. Additionally, with HP PrintOS, PSPs can remotely monitor and manage their print operations via a cloud-based interface from anywhere, at any time.
All four models are equipped with the HP Eco-Carton, an innovative cartridge made from board material. This design reduces plastic usage by 80% and cuts CO2 emissions by 291 tons annually during manufacturing, with an additional eight tons saved during distribution.
She also points out that HP’s water-based inks are more environmentally friendly, as they do not rely on reactive monomer chemistry, are ozone-free, and meet the UL Ecologo/UL Greenguard Gold certification standards, which ensure low chemical emissions into indoor air during use.
“Recent research shows that 85% of HP’s customers now prioritise sustainable products and practices,” Guayente concludes. “The Latex printers continue to build on HP’s long-standing commitment to sustainable printing, meeting this growing demand.”
